Katy Kristoffersen
Accompanist
Katy Kristoffersen has over twenty years of collective experience in coaching, accompanying, conducting and teaching, backed by degrees in Music and Psychology (Miami University, Ohio), with a Masters in Music Education (College of Mount St. Joseph). Â
Â
Katy had the great privilege of studying with Dr. Ethan Sperry at Miami University (Ohio), who helped draw out her confidence as an arranger and composer. Additionally, Katy accompanied every single string bass player in the university (inevitable when you’re dating one!) and was good enough that the bass professor, Dr. Steve Ullery, requested that she accompany not only his recital, but also the great Edgar Meyer when he visited Miami for a master class.Â
Â
An accompanist is a good metaphor for Katy's skillset. A better one, though, is a "joyful forklift." Katy thrives when she is in service of elevating people around her.
Katy is the Valley Symphony Chorus conductor, presenting programs in the Uncompahgre Valley.
Â
Katy lives with her husband and two children in Ridgway, CO. When she’s not swimming in music or mindfulness, look for her on the trails!
