PROUDLY SERVING OURAY COUNTY STUDENTS

Student Scholarships

Middle and High School Students, Graduating Seniors and Performance Arts College Students

The Ouray County Performing Arts Guild is pleased to offer scholarships to nurture performing arts skills in young individuals in our community, leading to a lifelong interest in the performing arts – either as a professional performer, or as an avocation while pursuing an unrelated career.

OCPAG Student Scholarships

What are these scholarships?

  • The purpose of the scholarships is to help fund performing arts activities and continuing education for Ouray County students.  One great example is helping fund summer camp, though we are open to other programs/opportunities!

Who should apply?

  • Middle and high school students active in the performing arts

  • Graduating high school seniors who have been and/or will be active in the performing arts following high school

How much funding is available?

  • Scholarship amounts vary from year to year and also depend on the number of applications received. In the past, graduating seniors of exceptional merit have received scholarships in the range of $1,000 to $2,000, while middle and other high school applicants have received up to $500 to help them pursue enrichment activities in the performing arts.

ELIGIBILITY

A $1,000 scholarship opportunity is for enrolled and full-time active college/university students to apply who are pursuing a performance arts degree (major or minor) or an arts-related teaching degree (major or minor) and intend to stay active in the arts after the receipt of their degree – either as a performer or accredited teacher. One individual will be chosen per year. Students may apply for consecutive years (and that includes students who previously received the scholarship may again apply for consideration). If no candidate is selected, the funds will be held over for the following year/s. This is a ten-year scholarship set up to honor past OCPAG President Susan Hillhouse beginning in 2020.
